Description: This will be a noxious weed identification and removal trip on Mt Lemmon. We hope to check in on and pull some yellow bluestem, dalmatian toadflax, spotted knapweed and maybe a few more listed invasive plant species. Several of these species are not found elsewhere in southern Arizona so this is a chance to learn some new plants in a cooler climate while also supporting the Forest Service to protect the Catalinas. Meeting Location: Desert Research Learning Center at the eastern end of Broadway Blvd Event location:
12661 E Broadway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85748 Tools Provided: A few hula hoes, some light hand tools, gardening and disposable gloves, contractor trash bags, Bring: Drinking water, your favorite hand weeding tool, a light bag lunch and/or snack Wear: Comfortable desert gardening clothes, closed shoes, sun protection Additional Information: We will be meeting at the Desert Research Learning Center in to make carpooling arrangements as there is limited parking in some of these locations. We will then head up General Hitchcock Highway, stopping at multiple locations. Please reach out if you would prefer to meet us on Mt Lemmon.
