Fall begins when the monsoon ends, usually in mid September. The air goes from warm and humid to hot and dry; the air and skies become very clear. Soon after the rains end the soil dries out and plants become dormant; most flowering ceases though a number of composites flower now. Fall continues into November or December, with temperatures becoming progressively cooler. While September highs average 95 F (35 C), by November days average 74 F (23 C) and the nights a cool 49 F (9 C).
